Purchase a baby pool. Add a variety of pool toys. Invite the parents to join in the back yard barb-a-cue while the kids play in the pool. An early afternoon time is the best. The children will remain safe as the parents sit back and enjoy the company of other adults. This is bound to be one of the best kids birthday parties ever. The kids will be so busy playing that they will forget about opening gifts and eating cake. An added bonus is that when the party is over the wee ones will be ready for a long nap!

When sending out the baby shower invitations, tell the guests that they are going to have the opportunity to purchase a lotto ticket. However, they will not use money to purchase the lotto ticket. They will supply baby shower gifts such as a small package of diapers, diaper pins, wipes, etc.

When the guests arrive you can begin the baby shower games with this game idea. Have a large calendar hanging for the month of the babys anticipated birth. Have a line going through each day to represent am or pm. The expected due date should be highlighted. Have the guests who purchase lotto tickets choose either am or pm on the day that they feel the baby will be born. There can only be two people per day who can guess any one particular day. Have them write their names on the calendar so the winner can be determined after the arrival of the baby.

Of course they will not know the winner until after the shower. The fun part is how the guests will pick the day that they think the blessed event will take place.

Begin the kids activity by keeping a lot of things you might otherwise recycle. Store them in a box for a rainy day. When that day comes around; take out the box. There are not any rules for what you can make. Let your childs imagination run and you will be surprised. Old yogurt cups can become treasures. Scraps of wrapping paper and old lace scraps might even make a wonderful new scrapbook page. We often make scrapbook pages for special occasions. Think of how nice it would be in years to come when you see the page made from a day that was just special for you and your youngster!

Visit your local grocery store and ask for any square boxes that they are breaking down. Get boxes that are almost the same size in width and height. Purchase spray paint or regular paint from the discount store. Then paint the boxes pink and blue. Take poster paper and trace large letters that say boy or girl or baby. If you know the gender of the baby and know the name you can make the blocks with the babys name on them, one letter for each box. You can set these blocks up on either side of the chair that the new mom will sit at to open her baby gifts.

For baby shower decorations that will add accent to the room make these streamers. Use poster board and cut out cute baby shirts and packages that are wrapped baby gifts. You can make football jerseys for a boy and lacy dress for a girl. To add personal touches write the names of the parents on one shirt the names of the grandparents on another. If there are any siblings they can have a monogrammed shirt as well. String these shirts together with yarn and hang anywhere in the room for a cute finishing touch.

If you know the gender of the baby we have wonderful baby gifts in adorable clothing at www.treasureboxkids.com. Visit us to see our line of quality clothing for your baby, toddler and of course girls Birthday party dresses.

Crafts for Kids

For rainy day crafts for kids, or for a unique kids gift idea; make this fun paperweight craft. Visit Treasure Box Kids where you will find adorable girls and boys outfits for any occasion.

Craft Idea

Craft Idea

Below are the items that you will need to create this fun craft idea.

1. baby food jar or another small jar with a lid
2. a decorative eraser or other small decorative object that can be glued to the bottom of the jar that will remain secure.
3. sequence, glitter or both
4. fabric to cover the lid of the finished paperweight
5. corn syrup
6. food coloring
7. measuring cup
8. hot glue gun (for adult use only)

To begin the kids craft, glue the eraser or small object to the bottom of the jar using a hot glue gun. A hot glue gun is the only way to be sure that the item will stay glued.
Then help your child measure out cup of corn syrup and pour it into the jar. Fill the jar with water. Add food coloring to the mixture until your child has the desired color.
You can then add the glitter and sequence. Be careful and remind your child to not touch their face while using the glitter.

When you have added all the inside items, hot glue the lid to the jar. Then, you can take the fabric that is cut in a circle and cover the lid. Attach the fabric by tying a ribbon or yarn around the lip of the jar.

Have your child shake the jar and watch with delight the way the items inside seem to move in slow motion. They will learn that the corn syrup mixed with the water is the result of the optical illusion. Visit Treasure Box Kids blog archives to find more clever ideas on crafts for kids.
