For each day that the chores are completed give your child a star. If you have more than one child participating have them pick the color star that will be their color.

At the end of the month if all the days have stars it is cause for celebration. This kids activity can be fun and will help you around the house as well. When it comes time for awards you can decide how you want to reward your child. I had told my children that they could have a special prize and we would shop for it. I was pleasantly surprised that they picked very inexpensive gifts. It seemed that the self-esteem they had accomplished from having a full calendar of stars was very gratifying in itself. However, if you feel you need to set limits do that at the beginning of the month so that there are not any disappointments. This will also encourage them for the coming month.
