Treasure Box Kids attended a Fall Fabric Show in the heart of Miami last month to source some of the best and highest quality fabrics around.

Many great vendors were on hand at the show displaying a vast amount of wonderful fabrics. I was on hand to look for soft velvets and other fabrics for the Treasure Box Kids new line of kids clothing Made in the USA Inspiration for the Fall 2015 holiday styles start with Treasure Box Kids sourcing materials.

Fall Fabric Show

We were also looking for new sequined and embroidered Organza fabrics for our Birthday Dresses as well as soft crepe linings for our girl’s dresses. High-quality Organza, Crepes, and Satins are very important when we design a girls dress for our Made in the USA line. We want the softest and most durable fabrics for our girl’s line of dresses. I was also impressed with the great assortment of quality cottons at the fall fabric show which gave us great inspiration for summer dresses for 2015 as well as for the Fall of 2015. The vendors gave us quite an education and an assortment of information on the manufacturing process of some of their fabrics. We were pleased to choose vendors that offer a vast assortment of quality fabrics.

That way you know that your child is wearing a garment that meets Treasure Box Kids quality as well as the US Governments safety requirements. A quality garment starts with a quality fabric and trims as well as a good design and fit. Quality fabric ensures a great fit and a garment that will stand up to multiple laundries.

Count on Treasure Box Kids to attend next years Fall Fabric Show in Miami and New York to source the newest, highest quality fabrics.

Use plenty of tulle, ruffles, feathers, bows and roses. You can check out this post for a lot of fun pink birthday party ideas.

Planning Birthday Party Ideas

Let your imagination run wild when planning the birthday party ideas for this French party. Ask the guests to come dressed in their fanciest dresses. Paint a large picture of the Eiffel Tower on freezer paper or white wrapping paper. Hang it up and have all the girls pose in front of it for fun photos of all the guests. Print them out before the party ends so the guests can have a souvenir from the party. Find some examples of French music or even classical music for a fancy version of musical chairs. You could even have the guests put on a fashion show just like the Paris runway shows so they can show off their pretty dresses.

Birthday Party Ideas: Food

Food for this girls birthday party can be simple but special. Serve sandwiches on croissants.  Make a simple cake or cupcakes. Frost them with pink icing and sprinkle liberally with decorator’s sugar for a bit of sparkle. If you are able to find French macarons, serve these for an added French-inspired touch.  Serve the food on your fanciest plates. The birthday girl and all her guests will love this special touch.

TBK- New Line of Kid’s Clothing Made in the USA

Treasure Box Kids Crowd Funding Campaign.

Treasure Box Kids is embarking on a new product line of Kid’s Clothing to carry in it’s store that’s made in the USA!   We are proud to announce that we are making a line of children’s clothing that is made right here in the USA. This line will feature excellent quality, materials and workmanship, designed with your girls comfort in mind. We are hosting our first ever crowd funding campaign on Kickstarter starting in the next few days to gather support to manufacture this new line.

We will be posting articles on the events that have lead up to and that are leading up to the campaign and to the Fall 2014 release of the beginning of the made in the USA line, Girls Dresses.  We have hosted a photo and video shoot with the girls at the Hyatt Grand Cypress in Lake Buena Vista Florida.  We just held our first Treasure Box Kids Fashion Show a few days ago at the Rosen Plaza Hotel International Drive, Orlando Florida. The girls had so much fun and the audience went crazy for the designs.

Kid’s Clothing

The new line of children’s clothing was born because the owner of Treasure Box Kids Carolyn Bailey, who has been a designer for over 20 years,  wanted to bring back the quality that clothing manufactured in the United States used to offer. Apparel manufacturing has been lost to overseas firms and the quality and workmanship of children’s Apparel has suffered greatly. That does not need to be the case. Treasure Box Kids will bring back the quality of fabrics and workmanship to children’s clothing. Children’s clothing will once again be able to be passed down to future generations.

Kid’s Clothing

Our new styles made in the USA will be timeless in design and also designed to visually enhance the appearance of the child wearing the style. We will also design for the child’s comfort in the fabrics and trims that we choose. No scratchy fabrics or trims for your child.  Mom’s will love the fact that our Birthday Dresses will be able to be worn for more than one occasion.

Kids Craft- Making Calendars

Kids Craft- Making Calendars

Kids Craft- Making Calendars

With the new year here, I’ve got a fun kids craft for working on during winter break. Let’s get ready for the new year by making a homemade kids calendar. You can use your calendar to showcase artwork or even your memories, like these kids scrapbook pages.

Kids Craft Calendar

Supplies needed for Kids Craft Calendar:

Calendar template (You can find several 2012 calendar templates at this link)

Construction paper, printer paper, or drawing paper

3 small binder rings

Three-hole punch

Glue or tape

Choose one of the calendar templates and print out. You will want each month on a separate sheet of paper.  Add in any special holidays, birthdays, or special occasions that you would like to remember.

Now, it’s time for the fun part of this kids craft! Draw pictures to correspond with each month. For example, draw a snowman for January, hearts for February, or spring flowers for May. Make sure your child signs their name at the bottom just like a real artist would do. Another option is to make collages for each month using family pictures or magazine pictures. It would be fun to use Christmas pictures for December and Halloween pictures for October in this kids craft.

If you’re doing this kids craft with a younger child or even a toddler, you could have fun with handprints. Keep things simple by just making handprints in colors to coordinate with the month, such as red for February. Or, you can get a little more creative and turn those handprints into pictures. Make a handprint turkey for November or a handprint ghost for October.

Once you have your artwork completed, it’s time to assemble your kids calendars. Try to visualize a store-bought calendar and how it’s put together. Attach the January template to the back of the February artwork, the February template to the back of the March artwork, etc. When the calendar is hanging, you will want your month’s artwork at the top and the calendar template hanging at the bottom. After your calendar pages are in order, use your three-hole punch on all the pages. Attach them together using the small binder rings.

Birthday Party Ideas That Your Children Will Love

Birthday Party Ideas That Your Children Will Love

Cat in the hatBirthday Party Ideas That Your Children Will Love

Coming up with fresh birthday party ideas when you’re a busy Mom can be one of the more challenging aspects of parenting. There is a lot of pressure on parents to host bigger and better parties with ever increasing amounts of bling. Not only is it expensive, but there can be a bit of work involved in finding the best birthday party ideas for your next bash. Treasure Box Kids brings you imaginative birthday party ideas for children of all ages. Read our post on how to host a Little Mermaid Party for a special birthday treat.

I always like to get my children involved in planning their parties, that way I get a great idea about what they really want, and don’t feel the need to compete with the entire neighborhood. It’s important to create memories that will last on for years for your children than it is to splash your cash.

Birthday Party Ideas from the ‘Cat in the Hat’

I always love to create birthday party ideas that my child will remember. Having the latest character theme is great, but if you really want to host a party that the kids will love then consider hosting a theme party with a character that is universally loved by both boys and girls and will appeal to a wide variety of age groups.

Dr. Seuss is a children’s author whose lessons carry on into adulthood.     Everybody knows and loves the books, and even the film. The most successful  children’s party I ever hosted was a ‘Cat in the Hat’ party. You can pick up a mountain of Dr. Seuss themed party paraphernalia at your local party store. I’d also suggest looking on E-Bay and other online stores for discounted merchandise. There is so much that you can do with a Dr. Seuss party theme.

The most important part is that you can use any colors to decorate your birthday party area. Of course, your standard Cat in the Hat colors are red, black and white, but all primary colors are great for a children’s birthday party. You can accent different parts with ‘Cat in the Hat’ merchandise without breaking the bank.

Dr. Seuss birthday party ideas allow you to be as creative as you want to, from rhyming invitations to ‘Cat in the Hat’ cakes and a the best part of all is that the books themselves will give you great birthday party ideas and games to play. You can take traditional party games and give them a great ‘Cat in the Hat’ slant very easily.

You do not need to have birthday party fears, when a ‘Cat in the Hat’ gives you birthday party ideas!
