Kids Craft: Homemade Cards

A fun kids craft is to make homemade cards for a special occasion. Cards can say so much and free cards that you design yourself are sometimes the best. Kids craft projects are a wonderful way for your child to expressive his or her creative side.

Homemade Cards

To begin this wonderful kids craft, trace your childs hand on some construction paper. Cut it out and fold it between the middle and ring finger. This is also sign language for I love you! This will easily fit in most envelopes that you can purchase. Most discount and dollar stores have a variety of envelopes in many colors and textures. You can coordinate the colors with the construction paper to make it very appealing.

Write out the greeting inside the palm of the hand card and be sure to date it. This will make a lasting memory.

A variation of the homemade card is to find a favorite poem. Print it out on your computer using whatever creative paper you might have or can purchase. Trace your childs hand on the paper and date it. You can also use ink or paint for the impression of the hand.

Frame this wonderful treasure and wrap it for mothers day, Christmas, or any other holiday or occasion. For more treasures that you can have for that special occasion please visit us at www.treasureboxkids.com for all your childs clothing needs.

To start the kids project, take small baby foods jar and fill it with Epson salt. Then, take food coloring and experiment with it to get the desired color. Add that to the jar with Epson salt.

Now, take those sample size perfumes that you can get from any department store or use one that has been mailed to you. Add the perfume sample to the jar. Cover the jar with the lid and cut out fabric to make a pretty cover for the lid. Secure the cover to the jar using ribbon or yarn.

Make a second one to keep at home. Your child will learn about what happens with this solid and how it will become liquid when dissolved with warm water. After you are all finished, run a bath and enjoy the aroma.

To start, you will need eight sheets of construction paper. Six will be for the inside of the flip book and two for the front and back cover. You can improvise this any way that you would like to make it more unique or durable.

On the first page cut out a stencil of the letter F or draw one yourself. Have your child come up with an adjective for F such as friendly. Have your child write a sentence on how dad is friendly.

If you want to make this a more memorable project, pull out the photo albums and look through pictures. Find pictures of dad that might show him helping a neighbor or socializing with the family. Add that to the page to make it more like a scrapbook. This will add another dimension to this project.

There are countless ways you can customize this project to create a real work of art as well as a treasured memory.
