When your child is involved in this educational game for kids, they will be creating a numbers game that they will want to play as they learn.

Take a long white shoe lace and with a black magic marker, write numbers on the shoe lace. You can do this anyway that you prefer either using lines between numbers or just writing the numbers. Tie a knot at one end of the shoe lace then take a colorful bead and put it on the lace.
Now, you can play any number game you that like. Ask your child to move the bead to the number five and then to the number twenty. There are countless ways to teach math using this simple home made project.
Call a number out loud and have your child move the bead to that number. This will teach number recognition to your child. This project is a great way to teach the concept of more or less. Have them move the bead up or down the lace to show that for instance five is less than ten but fifteen is more than ten. You can also incorporate addition and subtraction into this game.

On the first page cut out a stencil of the letter F or draw one yourself. Have your child come up with an adjective for F such as friendly. Have your child write a sentence on how dad is friendly.
If you want to make this a more memorable project, pull out the photo albums and look through pictures. Find pictures of dad that might show him helping a neighbor or socializing with the family. Add that to the page to make it more like a scrapbook. This will add another dimension to this project.
There are countless ways you can customize this project to create a real work of art as well as a treasured memory.

Birthday Girl Dress
Barbie invitations are easy to find but it would be so much fun to make them with your little girl. First, you take construction paper in the colors of lavender and pink and make dress cut outs. You can then have your daughter write in a special note to each person she is inviting to her party.
When your guests arrive escort them over to a table that is set up for a makeover! Have some eye shadow, blush and makeup available for the girls to have some fun. A game using a decorated Barbie purse can be substituted for a hot potato. The girl who ends up with the hot potato can sit in the middle for the next round wearing a Tiara.
To top off this theme party, give the girls foam picture frames that you can purchase from the craft store. Have plenty of jewels and paint for decorating the frames. Take pictures with a Polaroid or digital camera and print out the pictures. The girls will have a framed picture to take home with them!
